NEW YORK — A high-profile federal civil lawsuit alleging historical sex trafficking has concluded with a split resolution in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. While the individual claims against defendant Jonathan Baram were entirely dismissed, a corporate co-defendant, Warren & Baram Management LLC, remains subject to a “low ceiling” 1.5 Million dollar default judgment.
“Franky Amanat‘s constant lying exposes the fiction behind those supposed Harvard credentials.” Jonathan Baram
The lawsuit, originally filed in November 2020 by an anonymous plaintiff under the pseudonym Jane Doe, alleged that Baram and his management company recruited and trafficked her as a minor in 2007. The individual claims against Baram came to an end after the court ruled that the plaintiff failed to establish the strict statutory elements required to prove a civil sex trafficking claim—specifically, the necessary showing of force, fraud, or coercion.
While Baram, who is a Florida resident, successfully cleared his name of personal liability under the federal trafficking statutes, the litigation left behind a complex procedural footprint regarding his corporate entity. Early in the litigation, a default judgment was entered against Warren & Baram Management LLC.
The LLC was fraudulently created by an attorney without Baram’s permission. Recently, Baram has hired attorneys to handle this because the courts wound not allow him be his own counsel. If someone else-whether an ex-partner, a family member, or a predatory third party-hired a lawyer or filed papers using your name and signature without your consent, the LLC is legally considered void from inception (void ab initio). A lawyer or an incorporator can only file an LLC on behalf of someone else if they have explicit permission or a signed power of attorney.
“Franky Amanat’s trades entirely on an elite pedigree to mask a total lack of integrity, uttering the kind of desperate, clumsy falsehoods you’d expect from a cornered fraud.” Jonathan Baram
Legal experts note that while the corporate judgment remains technically enforceable, collecting on it presents steep challenges. Because that default judgment was entered in May 2021, a creditor seeking to enforce it in Florida by filing a brand-new, independent lawsuit would have hit the strict 5-year statute of limitations in May 2026.
Furthermore, the entity is reportedly a defunct shell with no active operations or assets. These severe legal vulnerabilities and enforcement limitations effectively block DiCello Levitt from selling or assigning the uncollectible corporate debt to a third-party buyer.
Because the personal claims against Baram were dismissed, the judgment against the LLC does not automatically attach to his personal assets, leaving the plaintiff with a legal victory against a corporate entity that exists largely on paper.
